10 Day Reset

July 1, 2019

Ever since having Baby Girl in January I haven’t been feeling like myself for obvious reasons. Making and birthing a human is no joke. It definitely takes time, a long extended period of time, for your body to heal.  I’ve been trying to give myself a lot grace. Some days more than others. Maybe in a way too much grace because I found myself eating and drinking whatever, whenever. But ultimately, I haven’t felt super comfortable in my own skin and have been ready for a reset.

I spent sometime with my dear friend from high school last weekend. She not only looks great but feels great. To me strong is the new skinny and feeling good is more important than looking good. My goal is to fit into my clothes and increase my energy levels. She mentioned this 10 day reset, so I thought I’d give it a try.

What is it?

For 10 days you CAN NOT have:

  • Starchy vegetables
  • Dairy
  • Fruits & Grains
  • Sweeteners
  • Soda & Alcohol
  • Condiments with Sugar
  • Baked Goods
  • Candy

Focus on what you CAN have:

  • Non-Starchy Vegetables (Cauliflower, Spinach, Broccoli, Kale, Carrots, Celery)
  • Unsweetened Tea & Seltzer
  • Spices & Seasonings
  • Nuts & Seeds (including Nut Butters)
  • Pumpkin Seeds, Almonds, Cashews, Pistachios
  • Meat
  • Eggs
  • Seafood
  • Avocado

What I’m doing is also a hybrid with this plan Curtis Brown. I have not completely given up caffeine as I have had no more than 2 unsweetened teas a day. I also eat fruit but just berries (Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries). I’ve incorporated more exercise into my daily routine and am walking minimally 20-30 minutes a day. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water. I’ve added lemon & lime to flavor it. Freeze your lemons and limes and use them as ice cubes.

Last week I lost 6 lbs (if my scale was right but I’m not sure?). Regardless of weight I feel better and that’s most important. I’m moving more and am mindful of what I’m consuming. This weekend was my nieces birthday and I had pizza. But, back on track today. Do the best that you can but the idea is to be more aware.

When starting this 10 day reset challenge what blew my mind was how much added sugar is in everything we eat. I knew this but really didn’t get it to be honest. Once I started reading labels and thinking about what I was eating each day it really shocked me. Added sugar in things like condiments, hummus, milk, dairy, etc.

So make a change! Try it with me. I’m going to continue past the 10 day reset to keep trying to make healthier decisions each day. I’ll be posting my meals on Instastories so make sure you follow along there. Just click on the pineapple where it says 10 Day Reset.

Do you think you can do it?

xo,

Dor

“What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.”
