Kitchen + Mudroom Remodel

April 22, 2022

If you’ve been following along you probably saw our initial post about the kitchen remodel where I highlighted the changes we were going to make. On my instastories, I also captured video of the kitchen transformation along the way.

Cabinetry

Our cabinetry is from Starmark Cabinetry. You can find your local dealer by clicking here. Local friends I’m happy to share who we worked directly with you, please just reach out in the comments below and include your email address. We went with 100% all wood soft close doors and drawers. Perimeter cabinetry is full overlay, 5pcs, full overlay door style, maple wood in color white. Our kitchen island is flush inset, Charlotte style door, maple wood in color shale. The hutch (in our eat-in kitchen area) is flush inset, charlotte style door, 5pcs drawer fronts. Last but not least, our Mudroom cabinetry and drawers are full overlay, Cosmopolitan style door, alder wood in driftwood finish, 5pc drawer fronts. Our hood above our range was custom made.

So many of you have asked about your cabinetry color. It’s unique to Starmark Cabinetry, the closest color match is Benjamin Moore Marina Gray  on  our  Island  and Pure  White on our remaining cabinetry.

Lighting

All our kitchen lighting is from Hudson Valley Lighting. A new window unit above the kitchen sink brings in so much more national light.

The three lights above the kitchen sink are Hudson Valley Garden City polished nickel sconces. The hood above the center island,  which previously obstructed everyones view, was removed along with the range. We added two Hudson Valley Altamont large pendant lights. Now the kids can sit at the center island, eat, and do their homework.

We swapped out the chandelier in the eat-in kitchen area and opted for brass with a Hudson Valley Lighting nine light chandelier from the Dillon Collection. The two Hudson Valley Lambert pendant lights brighten up the new mudroom.

Kitchen Sink & Accessories

Our kitchen sink and accessories are all from Build.com. It was so nice to buy everything online, have it ship for free, and arrive at our front door in no time. We wanted a single bowl tall apron sink. Build actually manufacturers the Miseno Inferno 33″ single basin farmhouse fireclay kitchen sink we went with. I love the clean look of our bridge faucet from Kohler which includes a separate sprayer. We opted for an air switch in the countertop next to the faucet vs having a switch on the wall for the new garbage disposal.

Hardware

The hardware from TopKnobs.com is a mix of pulls, handles, and knobs. The finish of all hardware in our kitchen is polished nickel, while in the mudroom we went with a new finish called Ash Gray.

I’m obssessed with the Serena & Lily navy grasscloth wallpaper and the pop of color and texture it brings into the eat in kitchen area. In the hutch I styled the glass shelving with copper accents and my Grandma’s vintage china to subtly bring in color. Knocking down the wall on the left of the fireplace not only made the space symetrical but you can now walk through either side of the fireplace to our dining room. Our kitchen fireplace got a makeover with shiplap and graphic tile from Cement Tile Shop.

Thank you for following along on this remodel journey. I appreciate all your kind comments and messages it’s been so fun to share our progress with you. I’ve included all sources below, but please post any questions in the comments below and I’ll respond.

XO,

Dor
