Spring is in the air! This past weekend it was 60 degrees here….that’s 30 degrees above the average temps for this time of year. We officially have the summer bug and I’ve been dreaming of the beach, not just hearing ocean waves coming from my little ones sound machines at night. I love the coastal casual vibe….beautiful neutrals (blush, light blues, whites) and more earthy textures. If you saw my Instagram post from last week I did restyle our shelves in our family room to reflect this. I’ve included a few trends I’m loving. These Blues & Ice Glass Bead Strands are just beautiful and remind me of sea glass. Try them on your coffee table as an accent piece or on a stack of books on your shelves.
Looking for artwork? Bring the beach to you with these beautiful photographers prints. This is my fav Max Wanger and reminds me of our honeymoon. Other beach photographers I love are Bryce Duffy, Huntington Beach, John Harper, Ondarreta Beach, Spain, Judith Gigliotti, Beach Spot White, and Christine Flynn, Malibu Beach
I enjoy incorporating natural elements into our shelves like driftwood, coral and geodes. Geodes are especially beautiful as the light dances off them, and each one is so unique. This 4″ Natual Geode is only $31.00 . They can be used to adorn a box like this acrylic box or as bookends. Natural quartz crystal and amethyst are my favorite colors.
I purchased this Ridged Terracotta Pot for just $12.00 and planted a orchid in it with some beautiful green moss to add some greenery to our family room. Don’t have a green thumb? Go Faux! Speaking of faux, I’ve not had great luck with fiddle leaf figs. They are too fiddly for me. I found the best Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig for $179.99. Real ones usually retail around $100 so just think low maintenance, time is money. Also nothing says refresh like swapping out your old front doormat. This Home Sweet Home doormat is perfect and for only $12.99 you can jazz up your entryway easy peasy.
Looking for any more ideas? Just ask in the comments below and I promise I’ll respond! I’ve also linked a few of my favorite coastal casual pieces for you to shop!
XO,
Doreen
