“Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower” ~Albert Camus

Fall is one of my favorite times of year; the newly chilled weather and changing landscape usher in the excitement of the upcoming holiday season. This year, we dove into the season by creating a family affair of decorating our front porch. Kids in tow, we headed to the local nursery in search of vibrant fall colors and fell in love with beautiful purples and greens of the ornamental cabbage and kale. When our design assistants needed a break, they played “King of the Mountain” on the mounds of hay and climbed aboard the decorative choo-choo train. We purchased all our pumpkins from our neighbor, whose family grows them on a local farm, and the mums from a local organization that helps families in need. Our porch, like our home, reflects the comfort and love we hope to welcome family and friends in with – and I look forward to it greeting all our guests during the holidays.

“What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.”

Everything in life is art.
