Get The Look: Indoor Plants

April 5, 2019

This Spring let’s bring the outdoors in with hassle free faux plants.  At this stage in life I’m more focused on taking care of littles, but I love the look greenery ads to our home. No worries, you can Get the Look with faux plants.  I have researched and sourced a basic guide that will help you get the look of healthy indoor plants without the commitment!

Now there are many faux plants that don’t look great and aren’t worth the money as they end up looking worse than a dead plant.  So you have to be careful when going faux and that means you may have to spend a little bit more to get as close to a natural look as possible.  I’ve chosen a medley of elements below that would look great in any home from retailers that have that quality faux look.  Once you know where to go for faux, then you can follow my step by step guide to create a natural indoor garden look!

Step 1:  Select the vessel

One of the most important steps is selecting what your want to put your greenery in.  I love the look of a raised pot or multiple levels of plants in one corner like the inspiration pic above.  This is also a good way to integrate different textures and colors so I’ve included an assortment of options including ceramic, tera-cotta and glass.

Step 2:  Create a foundation

Given these are fake plants they won’t need soil so dressing up the foundation they sit on is a great style move as you don’t necessarily need to worry about what you choose, it can be solely based on the look you like.  Another  great way to add textures and color into your room.

Step 3:  Add the elements

The greener the better here!  There are tons of simple yet elegant styles to choose from when picking the indoor plant you would like to feature.  All of these will look great it just depends on the space you have and what height will work best.  You can add the smaller plants like the succulents to a bookshelf, coffee table or even on your bathroom sink while the taller plants can be a focal point of you living or bedroom.

Hopefully this is a quick and easy reference to help you bring nature into your home without the fear and worry of the care and commitment a real plant requires!  Enjoy “gardening”!

XO,

Doreen
