I love organizing. There’s something so satisfying about only having what you need and knowing where it is. As a busy Mom’s most of the time we have to fake it until we make it, and most days we are lucky to pull off organized chaos. While the Twins are gone this week I’m enjoying alittle staycation complete with organizing our home, first stop our linen closet.
A few years ago I read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and it changed me. The Author, Marie Kondo, is a Japanese organizing consultant who developed the KonMari Method, which consists of gathering everything one owns by category and keeping only those things that “spark joy.” Outside of cherishing the things that bring you joy, Kondo recommends getting rid of things you haven’t used within a year. That included the expired cold medicine we had from 2014.
To organize our linen closet we created Linen Closet tags that you can easily print out at home or email to your local Fed-Ex store and have them laminate for you (have them printed on the thickest card stock possible). Tags include: guest, master, king, queen, twin, to help you easily label your linens. For remaining supplies we included: personal, misc., first aid as well.
I also organized our laundry by purchasing hampers from IKEA and labeling each with Laundry Basket Tags

“What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.”
