Before we had kids I used to read every evening. I’m embarassed to say I can count on one hand how many books I’ve read in the past few years and most of them are how to deal with the terrible two’s and trying threes. I did read Present Over Perfect and the Life Changing Art of Tidying Up this past year (which I loved!) . This summer it’s time to get back into the saddle and make time for reading again. I’ve purchased the above and can’t wait to enjoy after we get the kids down. I’ve already read Darcy Miller’s Celebrate Everything and I have to say it is EVERYTHING! Darcy has perfected what I like to call the “Art of Living” and can make the most ordinary extradionary. She takes party planning and details to the next level and this gorgeous coffee table booked is chalked full of fun ideas. Something to keep in mind for a hostess or the perfect gift for your girlfriend who loves Pinterest and party planning.
I’ve included a few more that are on my list and have ones that have been recommended to me including eating clean, and learning the Danish secrets to happy living, regardless of your taste their is bound to be something for everyone.
I’m also sharing with you a fun and tasty single serving lemonade recipe to enjoy while you read! To make this super easy glass of lemonade, you will need:
- Lemon Squeezer
- About 1 1/2 small organic lemons
- 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup cold water
- Ice
- Optional: lemon slices
Use the lemon squeezer to squeeze 3 tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice (I used about 1 1/2 small organic lemons). In a 2 or 4 cup measuring cup, stir together the sugar and hot water until the sugar is completely dissolved. Next, stir in the lemon juice and cold water. Finally, fill a cup or mason jar with ice and lemon slices, fill to the top with lemonade, and enjoy!
