Lush Lashes

January 24, 2017

Unfortunately, I’m not one of those lucky ladies who’s been blessed with long, luscious eyelashes. The sensational eyelash gene seemed to skip me and went to directly my son, Finn. I want to share with you all how I can get those lashes when I need em (thank goodness for makeup!) – in just 5 easy steps. For the record, this is not an everyday look. I break out the falsies for special occasions.

  1. To prepare my canvas, I start by lining my lids with Bobbi Brown Eyeliner Long- Wear Gel Eyeliner and applying Chanel Mascara Base to my lashes, which elongates my natural lashes and prepares them to blend in with the falsies.

  1. The lashes I use are Kiss Ever EZ Lashes – these are my go-to, I swear by them. I purchase the Trio Lash Pack in Short Combo, which is super easy to get your hands on – avail at Target, Walgreens, CVS and most major Drugstores. There are three rows (30 lashes total) in the packet, including short & x-short so you don’t have to cut them. I also purchase DUO Eyelash Adhesive in Dark-Tone (also avail at the stores above). You’ll need a pair of tweezers. Tweezerman tweezers are the best, plus you can mail your pair back to the company and they’ll sharpen for free!

3. Put a drop of the DUO Eyelash Adhesive into the Kiss Eye Pink Tray where it says “Glue Packet” – some gals are afraid of applying false eyelashes because it seems difficult, but DUO makes it so simple. Using your tweezers grasp one set of lashes from the tray. Dip the knotted end into the adhesive, and be careful not to put too much glue on the knot.

4. Start on the outside of your eye and put the lash trio on your lash line (not eyelid). Keep adding lashes and move towards the inner corner of your eye. I like to put the short lashes on the outside of my eye and use the x-short on the inside of my eye.

5. To finish, I gently apply mascara on all lashes to give it a uniform look. My favorite mascaras are all Maybelline: MLash Sensational, Mega Plus Volume Express, and Great Lash.

Like I said, this isn’t an everyday look, but it certainly is fun – and way easier than people think – for a night out. So if you’re like me and don’t have naturally luscious eyelashes, no worries – you can still achieve the look with a little help from your local beauty supply 😉

XO,

Dor
