Our Kitchen Furniture with Canadel

December 12, 2018

We are so grateful that our kitchen remodel is complete just in time for the holidays. December is always a busy month for our family. We pack so many special occasions into one short period of time. It’s both my birthday and our little ones and with Christmas too, we are frequently entertaining. Your kitchen truly is the heart of your home. You end up spending countless hours there preparing and eating meals, working on projects with your children and entertaining friends and family.

When purchasing furniture, especially kitchen furniture, you need something that’s extremely durable and will stand the test of time. When researching furniture options for our kitchen I came across Canadel. Canadels’ hand-finished furniture is made in North America. They manufacture everything from benches, and accent tables, to media consoles and kitchen tables. Canadel utilizes a catalyzed lacquer highly durable finish on their furniture which can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. I was drawn to Canadel because they offer custom furniture options (including sizing) which makes it easier to find what you need.

Where to start

To find your local Canadel dealer just search here. We went to Darvin Furniture in Orland Park as they have a great showroom which features many of Canadel’s pieces. We spent over 2 hours with their helpful staff selecting every detail of our kitchen furniture.  When it was time to pick out our kitchen stools and chairs we selected everything from chair color, leg style, to the fabric we wanted them upholstered in. For the table we were also able to select color, table base and exact measurements to make the table.

Customizing your furniture

With Canadel’s configurator UDesign  you can virtually design your own furniture. For example, with our bar stools we wanted them to swivel back and forth to make it easier for anyone seated at the island. Easily select which stool model you like, then select seating material and finish options. We went with countertop stool 8003, in white finish, and fabric sunbrella TB. We opted for wood trim with the stools so we can easily wipe away hand prints.

If you want to see the exact furniture we selected just go on Canadel’s configurator UDesign, click on the search box,  and enter the code: 2T96G and then all our furniture selections (stools, table, chairs) will appear in the wishlist.

We needed a custom size table for our eat-in kitchen area measuring 42 x 72. When customizing the table base you can choose whether you go with 4 legs or a pedestal table. We went with color white to offset the navy blue grass cloth wallpaper.

Our kitchen table chairs include 4 gray chairs and two white upholstered for either head of the table. The upholstered chairs are still child-friendly covered in Sunbrella fabric (TB). The white base matches the white base of the table.  The farmhouse chairs (in color whisper) remind me of the chairs we had when I was little at our kitchen table.

Canadel’s furniture is beautifully made. It really makes the space and it’s reassuring to know its quality and will stand the test of time. It was fun to be apart of the process of picking out the exact furniture we wanted for our new kitchen.

XO,

Doreen
